Randy Pausch, the Computer Science Professor from Carnegie Melon University that gave his now famous "last lecture" last fall, died today of pancreatic cancer. If you haven't had a chance to watch either the abridged or long version of his lecture, I highly recommend it. He also published a book in April based on the lecture.
